Changing a Subscription
Switch a subscriber to a different plan when their needs change — upgrading, downgrading, or moving to an age-appropriate plan. Apps Tab → Subscription Plans → Subscribers tab → find the subscriber → ⋯ → Change Subscription
The Change Dialog
Current plan details shown:
Plan name and status
When the subscription started
Current price per billing period
Allowance usage table — what's been used so far Selecting the new plan: A dropdown shows all available active plans for the same subscriber type. For pet subscriptions, plans the pet doesn't qualify for (wrong species, age, or weight) appear greyed out. You can still select and apply them — a warning will appear but the change is not blocked. Warnings shown:
If a scheduled change is already pending, you'll be notified
A warning confirms that changing plans resets all allowance counters to zero When to apply:
Option | What happens |
Immediately | Plan changes now. Allowances reset. |
Next Billing Period | Change takes effect at the start of the next billing cycle. Current allowances remain until then. |
Custom Date | Pick a specific future date. |
What Happens When a Plan Changes
Current subscription ends on the selected date
New subscription starts on the same date
Allowance usage resets to zero — it does not carry across
If scheduled, a "Scheduled change" badge appears on the subscriber's row
Pausing, Cancelling, and Bulk Operations

Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
New plan not showing in dropdown | Check the plan is Active and has Allow Signups enabled. For pet plans, also check species eligibility. |
"Scheduled change already exists" warning | Cancel the existing scheduled change first (⋯ → Cancel Scheduled Change), then create the new one. |
Allowances didn't reset immediately | If the change was scheduled for a future date, allowances reset at that date, not now. |
