Your pet's health records live right in the Lupa app — vaccination history, weight records, prescriptions, consultation notes, and appointment history from your vet, all in one place. Check vaccination due dates before a trip, look up a prescription dosage, or show another vet your pet's full history without carrying paper records.
💡 In short: Open the booking portal and choose your pet from Your pets. Tap View [pet's name]'s profile to open their profile, then use the tabs — Appointments, Medical records, Prescriptions, and Animal info — to find what you need.
Accessing Health Records
Open the booking portal — you'll land on the Your pets screen
Find your pet using the search bar or by browsing the list
Tap View [pet's name]'s profile on their card
Use the tabs at the top of the profile to navigate between sections:
Appointments — upcoming and past appointments
Medical records — vaccinations, flea and worm treatments, and weight history
Prescriptions — prescribed medications
Animal info — species, breed, microchip, insurance, and other details
What You'll See
Each tab shows a different part of your pet's health picture.
Your pets screen
When you open the portal you see all your pets at a glance. From here you can:
Search for a pet by name using the search bar
Switch between list and grid layouts using the List and Grid buttons
See upcoming appointments across all your pets, with the time, clinic, and options to View or Cancel each one
Tap Add a pet to register a new pet
Appointments tab
Shows your pet's upcoming and past appointments. Each appointment card shows the date and time, appointment type, the staff member assigned (or No preference if none was specified), the clinic, duration, and price where available. A status badge shows the current state of the appointment. You can cancel an upcoming appointment directly from this tab — you'll be asked to confirm before anything is cancelled.
Medical records tab
Shows your pet's preventive care records and weight history. Records are grouped into:
Vaccinations — each record shows the vaccine name, when it was last given, when the next dose is due, and whether it is Active or Expired
Flea and worm treatments — the same detail as vaccinations
Weight — a chart of all recorded weight readings, with the current weight and whether it has gone up or down since the previous reading. If the most recent weight is more than 12 months old, you'll see a notice prompting you to book a weigh-in
Prescriptions tab
Shows medications your vet has prescribed. Each card shows the product name, strength, the date it was last issued, the prescribing clinic, and whether the prescription is currently Active or Expired. Where your clinic has set up repeat prescriptions, you'll also see how many repeats are left out of the total originally authorised — for example, 2 of 5. Any additional instructions from your vet are shown at the bottom of the card.
Animal info tab
Shows the details your clinic holds for your pet, organised into three sections:
Animal details — species, breed, colour, date of birth, and current weight
Identification — microchip number
Insurance — insurance provider and policy number
Understanding Vaccination Status
Vaccination and flea and worm treatment records on the Medical records tab each show a status badge:
Status | What it means |
Active | The vaccination or treatment is current — no action needed |
Expired | The vaccination or treatment has passed its due date — book an appointment as soon as possible |
What Your Clinic Controls
The records you see depend on what your clinic shares through the app:
Vaccinations, conditions, and prescriptions appear once your clinic has recorded and shared them
Lab and diagnostic results are shared once the vet has reviewed them
Imaging studies (X-rays, ultrasounds) may be shared via secure links
If you expect to see records that aren't showing, ask your clinic — they can share specific items with you.
📍 Medical records are read-only. Only your clinic can add, edit, or remove health records. If you spot an error, contact your clinic and they'll correct it in their system.
Records from Multiple Clinics
If you're linked to more than one Lupa-using clinic, each clinic's records appear together across your pet's tabs. The clinic name and logo are shown on each record so you can see where it came from.
💡 Lupa only shows records from clinics that use Lupa. Historical records from a previous vet who used different software won't appear in the app.
Tips
✅ Get the most from your pet's health records:
Check after every visit — new records appear after your appointment is completed, usually within 24–48 hours
Track vaccination dates — open the Medical records tab to see when boosters are due so you never miss one
Use records for second opinions — show your Lupa health records to any vet, anywhere
Share with pet sitters — show relevant health info and medication details to anyone caring for your pet
Reference prescription details — if you have forgotten a dosage, check the Prescriptions tab rather than guessing
Cancel appointments easily — if your plans change, use the Cancel button on the Appointments tab or directly from the Your pets screen

**What's the difference between medical records and prescriptions?**\
Medical records (on the Medical records tab) cover preventive care your vet has administered — vaccinations and flea and worm treatments — along with your pet's weight history. Each vaccination and treatment shows as Active or Expired. Prescriptions (on the Prescriptions tab) are medications your vet has issued, with dosage details and an Active or Expired status. Both appear in their own tabs on your pet's profile. </details>
Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
No records showing | Your clinic may not have added them yet. Wait 24–48 hours after a visit. If still empty, contact your clinic to check they've shared records with the app. |
Records seem incomplete | Your clinic controls what's shared. Some details may only be available through the clinic directly — ask them to share more. |
Old records from another vet missing | Lupa only shows records from clinics using Lupa. Historical records from other software won't appear. Ask your current clinic about entering key historical data. |
Vaccination or treatment shows as Expired incorrectly | Contact your clinic — the due date may need to be updated in their system after a recent booster or treatment. |
Can't see lab results | Lab results are shared after the vet reviews them. If your vet has discussed results with you but they're not in the app, ask the clinic to share them. |
