Your pet's health records live right in the Lupa app β vaccination history, diagnoses, prescriptions, consultation notes, and lab results from your vet, all in one place. Check vaccination due dates before a trip, look up a prescription dosage, or show another vet your pet's full history without carrying paper records.
π‘ In short: Go to Pets > tap your pet to open their profile. Use the tabs at the top β Overview, Vaccinations, Conditions, and Prescriptions β to find what you need.
Accessing Health Records
Tap the Pets tab (heart icon) in the bottom navigation bar
Tap your pet's card
Use the tabs at the top of the profile to navigate between sections:
Overview β upcoming appointments, reminders, and recent history
Vaccinations β all vaccination records
Conditions β diagnosed conditions, current and resolved
Prescriptions β prescribed medications
What You'll See
Each tab shows a different part of your pet's health picture.
Overview tab
The Overview tab is your starting point. It shows:
Quick actions β shortcuts to book an appointment, message your clinic, or view your pet's health plan.
Upcoming β appointments confirmed with your clinic, reminders for treatments or check-ups that are coming due, and any consent forms your clinic needs you to complete before an appointment.
Recent history β a summary of recent appointments, medical records, and diagnostic results. Tap through to see your pet's full history, where you can filter by appointments, diagnostics, or preventive care.
If your pet is not linked to a clinic yet, the Overview tab shows a shortcut to find a nearby Lupa clinic instead.
Vaccinations tab
Shows all vaccination records from your linked clinic(s). Each card shows the vaccine name, the date it was given, and when the next dose is due.
Conditions tab
Shows medical conditions your vet has recorded. Each condition shows the name, the date it was diagnosed, the managing clinic, and the vet who recorded it (where available). A badge shows whether the condition is active or resolved.
Prescriptions tab
Shows medications your vet has prescribed. Each card shows the product name, dosage details, and whether the prescription is currently active or expired. Repeat prescription details β number of refills and the date they are permitted until β are shown where your clinic has set them.
Understanding Vaccination Status
Your pet's vaccination records show whether each vaccine is:
Status | What it means |
Up to date | All vaccinations are current β no action needed |
Due soon | A vaccination is approaching its due date β time to book an appointment |
Overdue | A vaccination has passed its due date β book an appointment as soon as possible |
What Your Clinic Controls
The records you see depend on what your clinic shares through the app:
Vaccinations, conditions, and prescriptions appear once your clinic has recorded and shared them
Lab and diagnostic results are shared once the vet has reviewed them
Imaging studies (X-rays, ultrasounds) may be shared via secure links
If you expect to see records that aren't showing, ask your clinic β they can share specific items with you.
π Medical records are read-only. Only your clinic can add, edit, or remove health records. If you spot an error, contact your clinic and they'll correct it in their system.
Records from Multiple Clinics
If you're linked to more than one Lupa-using clinic, each clinic's records appear together across your pet's tabs. The clinic name and logo are shown on each record so you can see where it came from.
π‘ Lupa only shows records from clinics that use Lupa. Historical records from a previous vet who used different software won't appear in the app.
Tips
β Get the most from your pet's health records:
Check after every visit β new records appear after your appointment is completed, usually within 24β48 hours
Track vaccination dates β open the Vaccinations tab to see when boosters are due so you never miss one
Use records for second opinions β show your Lupa health records to any vet, anywhere
Share with pet sitters β show relevant health info and medication details to anyone caring for your pet
Reference prescription details β if you have forgotten a dosage, check the Prescriptions tab rather than guessing
Act on consent forms promptly β if you see a consent form on the Overview tab, complete it before your appointment

What's the difference between a condition and a prescription?

A condition is a specific medical diagnosis (like "skin allergy" or "arthritis") that your vet has recorded β it has a start date and is shown as either active or resolved. A prescription is a medication your vet has issued, with dosage details and an active or expired status. Both appear in their own tabs on your pet's profile. \ --- ## Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
No records showing | Your clinic may not have added them yet. Wait 24β48 hours after a visit. If still empty, contact your clinic to check they've shared records with the app. |
Records seem incomplete | Your clinic controls what's shared. Some details may only be available through the clinic directly β ask them to share more. |
Old records from another vet missing | Lupa only shows records from clinics using Lupa. Historical records from other software won't appear. Ask your current clinic about entering key historical data. |
Vaccination shows as overdue incorrectly | Contact your clinic β the due date may need to be updated in their system after a recent booster. |
Can't see lab results | Lab results are shared after the vet reviews them. If your vet has discussed results with you but they're not in the app, ask the clinic to share them. |
