How to Understand the Structure of an Appointment Type

Learn how services, products, and bundles come together to form appointment types in Lupa

Updated over 4 months ago

Each appointment type in Lupa is made up of three key components: services, products, and bundles. These elements work together to define what happens during an appointment and what’s included for the client.

Services

Services cover the full range of veterinary procedures and care your practice provides. These may include:

  • Routine exams and check-ups

  • Vaccinations

  • Diagnostic testing

  • Surgeries

  • Dental procedures

  • Medication administration

  • Emergency treatments

  • Boarding, daycare, or grooming

  • End-of-life care

Services are what the vet or team does during the appointment.

Products

Products refer to the physical items used or sold during an appointment. These might include:

  • Medications and prescriptions

  • Medical and surgical supplies

  • Nutritional supplements

  • Grooming products

  • Retail or take-home pet care items

Products are automatically linked to appointments if they’re part of the treatment or sale.

Bundles

Bundles combine services and products into a single package. They are helpful for:

  • Creating standardised treatment plans (e.g. puppy vaccines + deworming)

  • Offering promotional packages

  • Streamlining workflows for common appointment types

  • Improving value for clients

Bundles ensure consistency across appointments and reduce admin time.
