How To Create Health Plans

How to set up and track health plans for your clients in Lupa

Health plans are a valuable way to offer ongoing, preventive care to your patients while giving clients peace of mind with predictable billing. In Lupa, you can easily create, manage, and track health plans for both individual pets and clients.

Access the Health Plans Section

  1. Navigate to Settings from the left-hand menu.

  2. Scroll down until you find Health Plans.


Understand the Two Views: Pets vs. Clients

In the Health Plans section, you'll find two viewing modes:

  • By Pets – See which health plans are linked to individual animals.

  • By Clients – View plans issued at the client level.

Toggle between these views depending on how your clinic prefers to organise plans.

Create a New Health Plan

  1. Click Create New Plan in the top right corner.

2. Enter the Plan Name, Price, and choose a Billing Period (e.g. monthly, yearly).


3. Save the plan to begin setting up allowances.

Add Allowances to the Health Plan

After saving the health plan, click on it to view the details, then select Add Allowance.

Configure the Allowance

  • Choose specific Items or Product Categories the allowance applies to.

  • Set the Discount Type (percentage or fixed).

  • Define the Value of the discount.

  • Specify the Period the allowance is valid for.

  • Set a Limit for how many units are covered.

You can add multiple allowances to tailor the plan for different services or products.

Edit an Existing Allowance

Need to make changes? Just click on any existing allowance to:

  • Adjust the value, discount, or fixed amount

  • Modify the billing period

  • Update the number of units covered

Changes will automatically apply to any future use of that allowance.
